The MOU formalises both parties’ collaboration in the validation and evaluation of Zambian and foreign qualifications as well as registration and accreditation of qualifications in the engineering field.
The MOU was signed on Tuesday 4th September, 2018, at ZAQA premises in Lusaka, Zambia, by ZAQA Director and CEO, Mrs. Mirriam Chiyaba, and EIZ Registrar and CEO, Eng. Newton Zulu.
The signing of the MOU further solidifies the working relationships of these institutions that form quality assurance and awarding bodies in education and training in Zambia, bodies comprising of the Higher Education Authority (HEA), Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ), Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA), Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ), General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNC), and the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ).

Furthermore, in enhancing this collaboration with these institutions, HEA has already signed an MOU with EIZ which allows HEA to use experts in Engineering from the Institution in the evaluation and accreditation of engineering learning programmes, and auditing of engineering institutions.
